The Australian Department of Defence (DoD) has released images of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessel that is said to be on passage near the country while Canberra hosts a large-scale military exercise.

澳大利亚国防部（DoD）发布了中国人民解放军海军（PLAN）舰艇的图像，据称该舰艇在堪培拉举行大规模军事演习期间正在该国附近通行。

 

These images, which were released by the DoD on 24 July, depict a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft overflying the vessel on the latter's starboard side.

国防部于7月24日发布的这些图像显示，一架澳大利亚皇家空军（RAAF）P-8A“海神”海上巡逻机飞越该船右舷。

 

The vessel, which features a distinctive array of four radar domes, has been identified as a Dongdiao (Type 815/815A)-class intelligence-gathering ship. The vessel type is often deployed by the PLAN near major military exercises such as ‘RIMPAC' and ‘Talisman Sabre'.

这艘由四个雷达圆顶组成的独特阵列的船只已被确认为东调（815/815A型）级情报收集船。该舰型通常由PLAN部署在大型军事演习附近，如“环太平洋联合军演（RIMPAC）”和“护身军刀”。

 

Exercise ‘Talisman Sabre' 2023 began on 22 July and will run till 4 August across Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and New South Wales. For the first time, the drills will also take placearound Norfolk Island.

2023年“护身军刀”演习于7月22日开始，将在昆士兰州、西澳大利亚州、北领地和新南威尔士州持续到8月4日。演习还将首次在诺福克岛周围进行。
